Rarerover
Just picked up a bucket list car for me. 72 Datsun 510. Spent the last twelve years parked in various buildings waiting for some attention. I know its rough but I am hoping the wife and I can make it road worthy again. The car came with a bunch of parts but we still need a bunch. That is my intro, I will included a picture when I get some close up shots. My profile picture is it on the trailer the day we brought the sad little thing home. 3 Quote Link to comment
edekalil
Well welcome to the the forum and good luck with your new project. I have loved these cars sence I saw my first one in about 1974, now I have a few myself. I have one all apart and all the parts for it and a motor all ready to be put all together again, my bucket list. Anyway have fun and be patient and you will find a bunch of info here as well as many folks to help you with it. Again good luck. Edited November 27, 2018 by edekalil Quote Link to comment
Rarerover
Thanks. Our car is a former SCCA race car so it is in a bunch of pieces. Once I figure out how to post picks I will . Really excited about getting started. Sourcing parts is so much different than the cars we have built in the past. I guess thats part of the adventure. Quote Link to comment
yenpit
Welcome! Do you have any history on the SCCA driver and/or events it raced in? An old race car will often have Nissan Competition parts with it...........do you know what you are getting yet? Some of those parts aren't necessarily good for street use, AND some can be quite valuable! If you are not sure about something, post pics & ask questions! I have LOTS of parts, so let me know if I can help with anything! I MIGHT be making a road trip to KC early in 2019, so if you need anything big bulky heavy, might be able to work a deal to deliver!
