WAGON JON
Send me to dat person who knows how to wire up an Autometer tach to a VG30e ECU. I need to see my revs!! I have a factory white needle tach that is not hooked up to anything. Is there a way to make it work with a VG30e? Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
Can't you wire it to the coil like most other applications for many years? Quote Link to comment

flatcat19
If there is an ignition coil, that's where it gets wired. Follow instructuons that came with tach. Quote Link to comment

WAGON JON
If there is an ignition coil, that's where it gets wired. Follow instructuons that came with tach. ...and sometimes it gets wired through the ECU...its less tedious to ask questions first. 1 Quote Link to comment
WAGON JON
So I hooked up the Autometer tach to the ECU signal wire (blue/orange) and the tach is working, kinda. Inside the tach behind the light, there is a square box with two switches. I adjusted them appropriately for the 6 cylinder engine, 1= up, 2= down arrangement. I do have a moving needle but it is not accurate. It stays low and jumps a bit. Here is the question: With the needle jumping and low position, is it likely a tach adapter is needed?
