datzenmike
Do your wipers, radio and heater fan work in the accessory position? Only wire I can find that could be disconnected and NOT cause a problem is power to the ACCESSORY position. It's a White/Red stripe wire. Quote Link to comment
datsunaholic
My wiring diagram doesn't show it, but in my '83 there are 2 individual red wires with spade connectors that come out of the lock mechanism (not the ignition switch itself, which has a 6-lug plug). These go to the key switch, which is what makes the beeper go off if you have the key in the ignition with the door open. The wires they plug into are different colors than the wires coming from the switch, which are red with a stripe. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
That's likely it. Found it! I don't have the wires on the key switch but they connect to a Black and a Black.Green wire. Green to the #5 fuse, and Black/Green to the chime, chime is grounded by the door switch. Open door... chime goes off if key in ignition. Quote Link to comment
