Javi_Mayne
I have a '83 Datsun 200sx rear axle with disc brakes and I am going to put it into my '81 B310 I know I will have to change the driveshaft. But I was wondering what else do I have to worry about? I currently have the stock axle on my B310 with drum brakes. datzenmike
The drive shaft flange is almost certainly different, and overall width slightly wider.. Can you measure WMS to WMS?? for me? wheel mounting surface? where the rim touches the drum? I so want to do this swap some day into my 710. Quote Link to comment

Think about a different master cylinder for brakes now that you're eliminating the drums. The drive shaft flange is almost certainly different, and overall width slightly wider.. Or just swap the axles/backing plates over to get the disc brakes? Quote Link to comment

My 13s didn't fit, the rim touches the drum right away the distance between the two is about an inch. 1 Quote Link to comment

flatcat19
You don't need a different master. Wouldn't be a bad idea either though. First one I would look for, obviously, would be one from a 200sx. 81-83 280zx would be my next thought. Match that rear end with a set of 280zx front struts for a level of awesomeness you can't handle. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
The zx is IRS, .....810 and Maxima wagon had solid axle but drums.. Quote Link to comment
Javi_Mayne
I was thinking of installing zx struts with T3 "big brake kit". Also Some are saying I will need a proportional valve for this swap. Is this true? Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
The zx is IRS, .....810 and Maxima wagon had solid axle but drums.. ??? Nothing to do with discussion. Zx is is rear disc brakes. With better brakes and struts on the front...As suggested above. Go reread. I was thinking of installing zx struts with T3 "big brake kit". Also Some are saying I will need a proportional valve for this swap. Is this true?Prop valve or different master cylinder. See where we're going with this? Big brake kit is overkill. OE zx brakes are adequate even with lots of power. Save the money for rims. Quote Link to comment

flatcat19
I didnt imply to mate the front struts to the rear end... Could you imagine the thread that would create. I think OP knew what I meant. But datzenmike.net had to be so literal about it though. Bowing out. Thanks for that, oh wonderful moderator. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
The Maxima sedan also has that style of caliper but only '81 and on. The earlier look like the 620. What are you so cranky about? Quote Link to comment
