bluebird4200
Hi Everyone, Just wondering if anyone knows or is there and build threads that discuss converting the distributor in to using coil packs. I have a s14 Ka24de that I am currently setting up a turbo on. I would like to possibly convert it to use coil packs rather than running a weak spark from the distributor. Is there any info out there? Please help me. Thank you! Quote Link to comment

UnderControl
The better question is why LS coils when you could do Maxima coils? Also, thank you for test fitting that manifold for me. Now at least I know if my current manifold doesn't work out that one will. 1 Quote Link to comment

southern620
is there a build thread on your truck? Quote Link to comment
UnderControl
Running any of the aftermarket coils is all the same really. Power, ground, signal from ecu. I'm fairly confident you will not be able to do this on a stock ecu, and don't think nistune will allow for it either. If you want coil on/near plug you should really look into any number of the stand alone options available. Side note, with the power you're likely to get out of what I'm guessing is an old stock nissan garrett the stock dizzy will be fine. As I recall the dizzy is good well into the 400whp range, so don't go changing if all your concerned about is it working. +1 on build thread. You'll also want to move the hoses on the intake pipe that are just before the throttle body to before the turbo or installing check valves in them.
