Lockleaf
Bottom side of intake manifold is one, just behind the the thermostat is the other. I will try to post some pics in a minute. Edit: behind thermostat leads to under intake manifold, there is a cooling connector that connects thermostat area to intake manifold and to heater hose. The other is at the back of the block, about halfway up it, under the intake manifold, there should be a hose barb 90° threaded in to the block and pointing at the firewall Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
This is the cooling T under the intake manifold. The tube you can see attaches to a hose going up to the thermostat area. Sticking out in the middle of this pic is the 90 at the back of the block. This pic is taken from right under the intake manifold looking at the back of the engine. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
This one directs hot water to the heater and connects the the valve on the heater core. The other one is the return. Heat is heat I don't think it matters if flow is right to left or left to right inside the core. Quote Link to comment

However, on my 85 z24 the hose goes from under the manifold to the lower radiator hose connection. My thermostat is on my upper radiator hose. It has been a few days since I last looked at this, so I could very well be wrong here. Just going from memory. Is my memory just that clouded? Does anyone have a part number for the hose coming from under the intake manifold to the coolant line? I am without a vehicle right now because I've been unable to find a correctly shaped hose at the local parts stores. Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
My pics are of an 85 z24. Get us some pictures of what you are dealing with Quote Link to comment
seadubb
Here is the hose and connection where the lower radiator hose meets up. Would it be safe to just get a straight section of hose and connect it? Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
Yes. Straight hose should be fine. Those curves aren't extreme Quote Link to comment
seadubb
It worked, thanks lockleaf. For anone reading this, I used about 10 inches of bulk 7/8" diameter heater hose. This is the hose going from under the intake manifold to the lower radiator hose connection to the engine block. There was no thermostat at this connection. 1 Quote Link to comment
