Spiff
Hi guys. I recently bought a 1600 pickup (720). And it starts and runs fine except for this little complication when you start it up cold. The choke only stays put when you pull it fully out, not in any intermediate position. And it can't stay all the way out because then the idle is too high and it runs bad and fouls. About halfway out seems to be the best setting at this time but it just slowly works itself inwards leading the engine to die... Probably caused by engine vibration. So is there any adjustments on the choke cable or do I just buy a new one? Quote Link to comment
wayno
Is it the type that you twist to lock? What I mean is you pull it part way out, then twist it clockwise or counter clockwise to lock it, Nissan made a lot of their choke cables that way. Quote Link to comment
Spiff
Nope, this can't be twisted. There's not a counter nut either like on my motorcycle. So maybe it's just worn out after so many years. Quote Link to comment
