ArchetypeDatsun
Making this short as I had a lot written but page refreshed on my tablet and don't feel like rewriting as I have to get on working on the car. Anyway picked it up from Klamath Falls, Oregon 80 miles from me. Saw an ad on Craigslist they wanted $800 at first but it had been sitting neglected for 3 years kept seeing the price drop until I emailed the owner and it was the lady that already moved to california so apparently they were selling because they were moving and her husband was still in Klamath Falls and had to be gone by the 20th of this month. I talked to the husband didn't really say much at all about the car but told them I was interested. I brought fresh gas, some oil, coolant, wheels with tires and ended up forgetting jumper cables and a extra battery. Got it to start by the guy having jumper cables in the trunk. I was refueling it with some fresh gas and what pissed me off the guy trying to impatiently start it while refueling. I stopped and put the cap back on and let him try to start It. It took 7-8 attempts finally came to life and idled on its own after 30 seconds. Title in hand and drove to the nearest gas station to get some more fuel and put some brake fluid and air in the tires, it made it home with no problems on a old battery, and crappy tires. 1 Quote Link to comment

ArchetypeDatsun
I vacuumed it out today carpet and seats need a deep clean but other then that it's pretty clean one rip on the driver seat not noticeable. The passenger side has a coolant stain from the heater core leak. It drives pretty good and it has ok power I just need to get a bad exhaust leak sounds like mad raped ape lol. Also took it for a small drive all to pull to the side a few times because it was getting hot found out someone never flushed the radiator once and probably mixed coolant and antifreeze so now there's a brown sludge gotta flush it out real good and hope for the best. It still needs a really good car wash, wax and polish. Quote Link to comment

ArchetypeDatsun
As the maxima sits now, I'll need to move from 205/60/15 to 205/50/15 my sidewall rubs on the inner fender at the rear. 1 Quote Link to comment
ArchetypeDatsun
When I bought the snowflakes the guy told me someone had painted them a plum color and strayed silver over it I'll probably have them redone by my buddy but mean while rocking them the way they are for now. captaingamez
WTF I made a comment on this a week ago and it never posted. congrats on getting the car. If you want it lowered like Henry's, then start saving for custom suspension in front, rear lowers pretty well without many issues. Quote Link to comment

I think it has to do with the page sometimes it takes longer to load. Thanks I love it pretty sweat car and gives my 810 a little break at least till I fix my headlight issue. I was looking threw his thread he mentioned Y32/Y33 coilovers I didn't or must have missed more details. I do plan on getting the suspension redone since it's old and been sitting for awhile, still feels good the back sags more than the front thinking shocks need replacement but I'm gonna wait it out and just skip to the coilovers and do bushings and sway bars. I do have a slight problem with the Maxima ever since it's been raining my car does a clicking sound inside where the fuse box is could be a short or wires touching but it's enough to move the battery gauge down slightly and makes the car stutter a little then goes back to normal but it will do most of the way home. When this happens it also stops my windows from working. Quote Link to comment

ArchetypeDatsun
Decided to change the plug wires on the maxima but first cleaned the dried up gunk on the valve cover. Quote Link to comment
ArchetypeDatsun
Then installed the plug wires in. I'd say she looks much better, still wanna get her all cleaned up on the engine bay and make that engine bay shine! Quote Link to comment
cardana24
Looks good! Where were you able to find a center console? I cannot find one anywhere. Quote Link to comment
