digs
Hi Im working on a '71 wagon and the driver side rear wheel has a noticeable wobble. I tried several wheels to make sure it wasn't a wheel and the hub gets hot after a 10 minute drive. I figure its probably the bearing or a bent axle shaft but I need to get the axle out to see.. Is there a circlip holding the axle inside the differential? I removed the backing plate behind the hub but it wont budge, also I dont see a clip in the parts catalog schematic http://www.carpartsmanual.com/Portals/9/Figures/NorthAmerica/normal/510_064_1_vga.png Anyone ever have this problem before? Anyone have an axle for sale? help is always appreciated -Evan Quote Link to comment
Eagle_Adam
Get a bigger hammer ;) They just slide in and out, I've got an attachment for my slide hammer to pull axels Quote Link to comment

digs
ok thanks I will try to pull it now that i know,. yeah I put it in gear while it was up on jacks and could see that the hub surface is what wobbles, ill try to sight down it but may replace it along with the bearings for good measure.
