zed1
In addition to the alternator wiring connector, there are two black wires exiting the wiring harness, the shorter one appears to be connected to the “E” terminal of the alternator. Where does the other, longer wire connect? In addition to the battery cable, from the positive terminal to the starter, the 521 wiring diagram shows a positive (red) cable to “resister”, then to fuse box. On the 520, Is there a wire directly from the battery terminal to the positive terminal of the alternator, orIs there a wire directly from the battery terminal to the fuse box? Finally, what gauge is this wire? Thanks, Keith Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
The other Black wire is likely grounded to the alt. case. The Red wire on the battery positive is not a resistor but a fusible link. Other than the starter, everything has to go through the fusible link including the alternator. Quote Link to comment
