Slammed the hood, idle RPM jumped

Engine was running normally for a while now. I was checking the engine while it was running, slammed the hood down harder than I should have and then the engine's idle jumped to 1500 RPM.

What the hell did I do?

Did I shock a switch in the carb?

Note, the vacuum system has been mostly removed as is the EGR valve.

Contemplating slamming the hood again to see if it returns to normal.

I assumed you stepped on the gas several times to see if this would dislodge it???

Check the throttle cable is loose enough for the throttle plate to close completely to idle.

Try adjusting the idle speed screw down

Check that the fast idle cam is fully off and choke plate fully open.
