Hooligan
Start with setup - L20, Lynx manifold, Weber DCOE 45 single sidedraft Driveability - slow cruising around town, throttle response is good, feels slightly like the carb is slightly flooding. Now on the freeway she screams... no hesitation, couldn't ask for better throttle response. AEM wideband - cruising on the freeway 60 - 70 MPH and she is running high 10's (rich I know). Throttle her up and she runs around 13.8. Shut her off without any issues. Now... restart, she puffs a quick bit of smoke (not valve seals) you can smell the fuel plain as day. I know she is rich and this is where any advice is appreciated. Before we get into specs... yes I checked the plugs. Black carbon Factory DCOE 45 specs Venturi - 36mm Main jet - 145mm Air corrector jet - 155mm Emulsion tube - F16 Idle jet - .55mm Pump jet - .45mm Needle valve - 2.00mm Now, doing some asking around I was given a formula for a similar setup Venturi - 34mm Main jet - 130mm Air corrector jet - 180mm Emulsion tube - F16 Idle jet - .50mm Pump jet - .50mm Needle valve - 2.25mm Single sidedraft is a new venture for me (sure it will be a long one)... get me on the right track Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Yes, that advice you were given is sound. Your "factory" setup is flawed- the air jet is way too small meaning it will cruise overly rich. Change to a 195 air jet and it should run much better. 2 Quote Link to comment
smoke
At what rpm are you running (roughly) at that speed? Also, what does the wideband read at idle? Quote Link to comment
