salmanyasin
Hello Ratsonians, I have a couple of questions. 1. Can you install a Datsun 5 speed gearbox to a J 13 Motor without any alterations? 2. I found a 5 speed gearbox in a 2nd hand auto market and the markings on it read 3 H 0213472 What does it mean? Thanks, Salman from Pakistan. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I know of no 5 speed for the J series motors. In other countries they may have kept using the J series well past the '68 year we did. Usually a 5 speed is used with a motor that can handle pulling a vehicle along at lower RPM on the highway. J13s (in the trucks anyway) usually has 4.88 differentials to rev them up to make enough power to pull a truck. Post a picture of this transmission. 1 Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
The J engine uses an adapter plate between engine block and gearbox.. Never heard of a 5-speed for it. Quote Link to comment
