720newbie Posted February 25, 2014 Report Share Posted February 25, 2014 I just cranked my tortion bars to level out my truck and am wondering if this has created an issue for anyone who has done it. I have never done this to a truck but mine sagged so much in the front it looked like a hot rod lol...it is a 4x4 too 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike Posted February 25, 2014 Report Share Posted February 25, 2014 It may actually improve the steering and handling if it's going back into the stock ride height and was never aligned after the sag. Otherwise it may need adjusting for toe. 1 Quote Link to comment

datzenmike Posted February 25, 2014 Report Share Posted February 25, 2014 Proper ride height is important. Adjust the torsion bars so that the distance vertically between the LCA spindle bolt center and the bottom of the steering stopper is 1.5" to 1.7". 2 Quote Link to comment

TasoZ24 Posted February 9, 2015 Report Share Posted February 9, 2015 my 83 720 2wd KC is lowered a bit. im wanting to get it back to stock ride hieght. im sure all the previous owner did is adjust the torsion bars. what would be the procedure to get back up an inch or two?? 2 Quote Link to comment
mrbigtanker Posted February 9, 2015 Report Share Posted February 9, 2015 The torsion bolts need to be about center of threads to be stock height. If you climb under there the bolts should be all the way at the end,tighten them up half way in the threads and your good. If it was re indexed you need to readjust the tensioners. 1 Quote Link to comment
TasoZ24 Posted February 9, 2015 Report Share Posted February 9, 2015 I have no clue what was done. got the truck on jack stands today and noticed it looks normal while up in air. so torsion bolts will be towards the ends of threads if truck was lowered this way, and all I have to do is tighten them to half thread? front and rear are done this way? 1 Quote Link to comment
