willz Posted January 7, 2014 Report Share Posted January 7, 2014 Used the search function and the only one that really helped me that I could find had some part numbers for the exhaust holes that need to be caped off. does anyone know what all I need to do to delete the smog stuff on my 1978 620 with the stock hitachi? buying a weber is out of the question at the moment Quote Link to comment
datzenmike Posted January 7, 2014 Report Share Posted January 7, 2014 On the valve cover side of the carb are two ported vacuum sources. The one to the front of the motor is the vacuum advance for the distributor so definitely leave this alone. Pull the hose to the rear off and this will disable the EGR completely. If you have an air pump down by the steering box just loosen and remove the belt. That's pretty much it. The emissions system doesn't affect performance so don't expect any change ... there won't be.
