socaldatsun
So a year and a half finishing up my project, just put a ka in my 521. Motor is bone stock rebuilt. My problem that I'm having is that under load it seems like my fuel pump will die out. I'm running a new walbro 255 external pump with -6 ss feed and return lines, 20gal fuel cell with the stock FPR. It is giving me a loud buzzing when the pump is I'm running. The motor can idle for ever and it is not heating up 180-200f during street operating. I could probably drive 2 miles before I get a half pedal/bogging feeling. Any ideas? I'm stumped Quote Link to comment
MicroMachinery
What's the condition of your fuel filter? Quote Link to comment
CWhip
Where is your pump mounted? I've got mine mounted after the filter in the engine bay and under hard acceleration the pump suckes the filter dry and it takes a few seconds for it to catch back up. I need to mount it back closer to the tank so it pushes through the whole system. Just my 2 cents. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Pumps push at almost any pressure you want but they don't draw very well. No pump made or ever will be made can draw water vertical more than 30 feed or so. Ideally mount in the tank. If outside the tank as close and low as you can. Quote Link to comment
