reese
Is there any way to add a quick release to the stock 510 steering wheel so I can remove it for theft protection? Quote Link to comment
Tristin
Im sure its possible, but youd have to make some sort of custom adapter. Quick releases bolt to the steering wheel via 5 or 6 bolts whereas the stock wheel slides over the column teeth and is secured via a center nut. In theory I bet you could custom drill the backside of the wheel to match the QR pattern and bolt it together by removing the horn pad. I dont know how tough that material would be to allow you to securely fasten it to the column though. I wouldnt chance it. Im sure something could be done though. 1 Quote Link to comment

fourfiveten
Drill round plate steel in the 5 bolt pattern with a centre hole to fit the column and weld the hold down nut to it? been a while since I looked at the stock setup but I bet that would work, or something close to that anyway. KyushaKai
Drive without the nut. Previous owner of my Z car didn't put the nut on. Scared the living shit out of me when I was rounding a freeway on ramp and the wheel came off in my hands. 1 Quote Link to comment
