laotsu
if it's still on the car and you don't care aboot looks just smear some silicone RTV on it and form it with a credit card. cleans up pretty easily with vinegar. Quote Link to comment
KlassicMotion
I'd use a windshield urethane to repair it. But if the entire seal is hard or cracked, I'd be tempted to go ahead and replace it. I've got the Thailand made gasket, with no issues yet. I've heard both good and bad about them. datzenmike
Black urethane for sure. RTV will work but is pretty soft also a bit shiny. Urethane is hard like rubber and much tougher. Do NOT get it on you. Smears all over won't come off... use gloves. Quote Link to comment
laotsu
RTV will work but is pretty soft also a bit shiny. also discolors from clear to yellow as it ages, but it's cheap and cleans up easily. Quote Link to comment
72dat
I know im bringing up an old thread but this awesome! iv'e been dealing with this all day and trying to figure it out. A quick run to canadian tire to pick up some rtv and just to put my mind at ease about the product i do a quick search on here and its all been figured out all ready. Now just to get it dry enough to apply.... Quote Link to comment
MicroMachinery
Can we get some applause for this fella who used the search function? 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
RTV sucks and is only fit foe chevy intake manifolds. It's weak and soft, wont stand up. Get black polyurethane rubber or windshield sealer in a tube. Crap tire has this. Get the tubes that fit a caulking gun it's cheaper. It dries hard like tire rubber. RTV silicone is more like jelly. http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/lepage-pl-premium-polyurethane-adhesive-0671068p.html#.VOK-7iz2Nvk not sure if it comes in black http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/lepage-pl-premium-advanced-polyethalane-adhesive-295-ml-0671439p.html#.VOK_Uiz2Nvk not sure if it comes in black Don't get on hands, it smears and makes a hell of a mess, unbelievable mess. Wear rubber gloves. I also got a tube from an auto glass place. The guy gave me one because he was pissed at his boss. Same thing. Quote Link to comment
