guyster
Looking into carbs and read the tech wiki. Just to ensure I got my research right, I'm looking for help... I do NOT need the Weber DFEV (left-hand orientation), even though I have a right-hand drive car. Orientation has to do with looking at the engine from the front of the car. In which case, I need the DGEV as the carb is on the right side of the engine bay, when looking from the front of the car, yes? I'm not looking to modify the motor, so I understand that a 32/36 DGEV is the best replacement, yes? To get proper linkages and make installation simpler, I should buy the K624 kit, yes? http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/250905257643?lpid=82 Thanks for all your help! Quote Link to comment

ggzilla
Correct. Orientation for cars is always as if sitting in the car. Thus the Carb for an A12 is always on the left side of the engine - for LHD or RHD. DFxV can be used. Or DGxV. Most 120Y owners use DGV because manual choke. 1 Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
The best replacement for a standard 120Y (A12) engine is an Hitachi DCG306 - best throttle response, best fuel economy, best fit. Weber 32/36 is good if you will be revving the engine over 5000 RPM. Below 5k the Hitachi is superior in every way. Brand new DCG306 are sold on eBay and by Projects. 3 Quote Link to comment
