Valvebounce
My 620 has three fluted vents behind the front fenders, on the panel where the hinges bolt on. These seem to me, to be a place where moisture might enter the panelwork. Promoting rust etc. (Although the flutes are canted to discourage it) What are peoples thoughts about sealing them off? GRpufnstuf
Picture please. I don't have a flute on my 620 ;) Quote Link to comment
datsunaholic
The vents behind the fender on '76-79 620s serve the same purpose as the pillar vents behind the doors on a '73-75 620. It's to let moisture OUT of the double-wall cab. Without the vents, whatever water gets in (and it will, no matter how well you seal it) rusts the cab from the inside out. However, their purpose usually ended up pointless by the mid 1980s when most 620s started having rocker rust-out, which then allowed more moisture in than the vents could circulate out. Valvebounce
Rocker? to which part do you refer? I'm not familiar with the US spec lingo. Quote Link to comment
GRpufnstuf
You know, the "red rocker" aka Sammy Hagar... Rocker panel is the sheet metal under your doors, parallel to the ground. Often rusted through on 620s. What do you call it in NZ? Quote Link to comment
GRpufnstuf
OH! Are your 620s right hand drive down there?! And are they plentiful? I need someone to sell me a conversion kit/parts for my truck. Maybe a trade? Would you like to be left hand drive? Quote Link to comment
