KA Smog questions

I pick up my 1989 ka24e yesterday I see there some smog stuff on it just wondering if I can remove any of it

I agree with most except

 

4a/ the intake butterflies. These are closed at low speeds and improve throttle response and efficiency by 'squeezing' intake air to the top of the intake port where the fuel injector is. These are vacuum actuated and fully open at wide open throttle.

 

9/ the charcoal canister. It does good, does no bad and has no effect on running.

I used the same link when removing smog equipment from my old KA-E. Agreed on leaving the butterflies in. I didn't have a charcoal canister but thats just because it was more effort for me to add one, but like mike said, it does no harm.

You can do anything that you want. The RCMP will eventually tell you if it's legal.
