MikeRL411
According to the Datsun 410 / 411 parts manual [page 11] dated September 1968 the WRL411 wagon production serial numbers start with an unsurprising "WRL411-800001", the 8 signifying the wagon variant. The sedan production serial numbers start with "RL411-001101" a curious starting point. Can it be [pure speculation on my part] that the RL411-000001 to RL411-001000 serial numbers were reserved for R&D development mules, and that the RL411-001001 to RL411-001100 were reserved for racing and competition prototypes? How close to WRL411-800001 or RL411-001101 serial numbers has anyone seen? Quote Link to comment
craigo
I found a serial number on my 67 411 wagon's engine compartment that is PL411-82xxxx. What you think that it? Quote Link to comment

MikeRL411
Right! RL- xxx and WRL-xxx chassis numbers! There are some Okinawan and Greecian/European production lTaxi Cab lots that screw up the "logic" of these chassis numbers. Quote Link to comment
