Timing Mark on Z22s Harmonic balancer

Um the D21 Hardbody didn't have Z22 engines... the '81-'82 720 did. Also they only had solid pulleys. The only 4 cylinder I know of with a harmonic balancer was the KA motor. 

 

The notch is very small and hard to find if not marked with crayon. If totally in the dark take the valve cover off and crank the motor over until the front two cam lobes are pointing downward at 8:00 and 4:00 o'clock as seen from the front. This should be very close to TDC. (top dead center) Now look down behind the rad on the alternator side at the fan belt pulley. You should find a saw toothed timing scale like this...

It will be very close to the pulley edge and the TDC notch should be close to the top or 0 (zero) mark or an inch or two each way.....

 

Very small.
