Rear suspension question

I have noticed on several pictures about lowering a 720, to put lowering blocks on the leaf springs. These pictures show the leaf springs under the axle... mine are above the axle, is this a normal difference between 4x4 and 2wd or were mine flipped to raise it? Mine is a 84 KC 4x4.

Yes the 4x4s have the springs mounted on top of the axle to gain easy road clearance. The springs are also flatter than the 2wd ones, so the gain is at least partly cancelled, and the springs are much stiffer.

Just learned something new, I'm gonna need to find some 4wd leafs for my 2wd.
