L20b question

I just picked Up a short block from a guy the other day. Everything looks to be in good order just needs gaskets all around, maybe throw some rings and bearings in for good measure. When I asked what year it was from he didn't know. So it comes to my question, are there differences between years in the l20b from early to late different t covers water pumps rings, bearing sizes, torque specs, deck heights. I just know if I try ordering parts for this that is one of the first questions a part store asks is what year.

nope, they are all the same except for the thermostat housings i think.

internally there all the same they changed things like the heads and such but everything in the short block is the same

you can also cross reference parts with different years that have L20b engine and use Autozone web site. also its from yr. 74-85, per wikipedia.

there was no l20b after 1980

went on autozone and listed 2.0 Datsun/Nissan for 1985 and cross reference waterpump for 1980 and 1985 same part number.  Also went on internet and they said 74-85.  I could be wrong since I'm not too familiar with years of L20b but I was curious and those are the results I got.

My bad..yes it's a 2.0 but napz..learn something evryday.  thanks for the correction..
