Parkinglotslider521
So me and the wifey were bleeding the new slave cylinder, I had the adjustment rod on the slave cylinder set for the shortest throw because of the new clutch, and as im about to bleed it for the last time my wife pushes the pedal to the floor and it blew the main seal on the slave cylinder piston to pieces! What did I do wrong? Never had this happen before, I r confoozd. Quote Link to comment

gearboxx70
Wait! Now I'm confoosed! Are things made in China made with pride? Oh my aching brain! Quote Link to comment
Parkinglotslider521
No, it was $31.99 from autozone, part #10030. Im slightly homicidal over the whole incident. But they are going to replace it (limited lifetime) So in the words of p-diddy "im gonna kill you! Smiley face." Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Either: * You did nothing wrong and the problem was caused by a faulty part or * The slave is the wrong part, too short and so it expanded too far or * The release lever (throwout lever) and/or bearing holder is the wrong size and let the slave move too far, thus coming apart. Question: Why are you replacing the slave? Is it because you are fitting all new clutch parts? Quote Link to comment
Sleepys-14
you could have made the push rod to short, and when you push the pedal, the seal and piston came out of the bore. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
The slave push rod length? If the Master cylinder is too big a diameter, it could blow out the slave, maybe. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
If the 'new' one does the same see above 2 posts. Quote Link to comment
Parkinglotslider521
It didnt push the piston out of the bore, it literally blew the seal to pieces in the bore. I'm wondering if the new pressure plate was the wrong one. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
No. If your slave was pushing against a concrete wall and couldn't move the peddle would be rock hard too. The slave was built wrong or had a cheap part in it. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Yep, it is defective is the seal tore. I was thinking the piston & seal came out. Quote Link to comment
