SubwayGUY4
Alright i've searched and came up with some different answers everywhere. I saw a picture of stock 510 steering knuckles with a ball joint and 280zx steering knuckles where the balljoint on the 280zx steering knuckle is slightly raised..which apparently puts it at a crazy angle where it will ripp a hole in the joint soon... so my question is....with the later model 510 14mm ball joints.... Will that ball joint fit in the 280zx steering knuckle..instead of using the 280zx steering knucles with the 280zx ball joints.... or are they the same....etc etc... thanks Quote Link to comment
SubwayGUY4
Bump basically all I'm asking is does a 510 balljoint bolt to a 280zx knuckle.. Quote Link to comment
D52E
In the left side of picture below you can see a late 14mm 510 ball joint and 280ZX steering arm. The right side is 280ZX ball joint and 280ZX steering arm. I was not able to check the taper angle of the stud to confirm they are the same. As you may see, the 510 ball joint and 280ZX steering arm combination results in pottential binding condition. Quote Link to comment
SubwayGUY4
Yes this picture is what made me wonder if using the stock 280zx ballpoint as it makes it sit higher. I'm basically only doing this for more steering angle Quote Link to comment
thisismatt
There is also the offset of the balljoint mount and the angle of the tie rod joint mount to take into consideration when looking at stock 510 vs 280zx knuckles: Quote Link to comment
