DevilZX
Hello everyone! About a month ago I picked up my new 620! I got it in pretty good condition but have been adding my own touches to it for a bit. It is a 5-speed, I put on a Weber 32/36 that I had lying around from my '82 720. I put on an alternator from a '99 Saturn SC2. Used a 197? Ford truck pulley to make it work. Stuck in a new water pump from a '69 510 with a pulley from a 280zx. Old one was bad. The clutch no longer worked and the pump was starting to leak out the weep hole. Found an electric fan lying around the shop from a ~2000 Dodge car and made it work. Had to fit it between the rad and the grille. There was no center console in it when I bought it but found the front half from an '84 720 and the rear portion with cup-holders and a storage bin from a 199? Exploder. I have no idea what these seats are from but they work pretty nicely and match the center console pieces. Dash is as expected... I did not like the old "big-rig" style Dumbo-ear mirrors so I went out to the scrappers and fount one off of a Scout. Passenger side is off of an unknown American car. Crown Royal Reserve bag customized to fit serves as the shift boot. I got it with this awesome 3-tone-ish paint job and super slick wooden half-tonneau cover... Removed that in a hurry and finished the black paint. The original 14" wheels were traded up to some 15x7 I found in the junk yard. One wheel had a big dent in the lip so I used some heat to help bend it back.... Well, that caused some bluing in that spot so I just finished that off all around and continued on to the rest. I think that's all I have done for now.. On to the Oics!! Before: After(s): Plan on going lower very soon! Quote Link to comment

DevilZX
Last few days I have been tinkering away. Got the front and rear lowered 3". Also, I built an airdam of sorts. I cam a cross a Ford Exploder front airdamn which I then chopped a chunk off of and attached to the 620. I think it looks like it was meant to be there. I just need to find a way to make it a bit less flimsy... I do have a question (for anyone reading this).. Since I lowered the truck (torsion bars), I have developed a nasty pull to the right. This is made worse by applying the brakes. I pulls into the other lane and if I let go of the wheel, the steering wheel will turn over 180 degrees. What could be causing this? I didn't notice anything broken and I checked the brakes (disc) for proper operation. They seem to move and they both hold strong and release when supposed to. Any ideas? Pixors later.. datzenmike
Lowering will always change your camber. Likely you are now toeing out. Park on the level and stand in front of the truck's driver's side. Have someone turn the wheel until the front tire is facing forward. Sight down the sidewalls and line up with the rear tire. When it is pointing straight forward in line with the rear go over to the passenger side. Is the front tire turned outward? or maybe inward? likely out. If you can see this by eye it is way out of whack. This is an easy fix and won't cost you anything. Quote Link to comment
DevilZX
Well, I got most of the pull sorted. Alignment was definitely needed. -0.6* caster & +1.7* camber on the right side! Added some shims to the upper control arm and now it matches the left side. Still have a mild pull when brakes are applied but that will get sorted later. New oics time! First shot was taken by my photographer buddy. Sneaky little bugger! Second was the ever so amzazing blackberry camera phone... Quote Link to comment
DevilZX
Did a little work to the truck last week. Built some leather hood straps. The hood latch works fine so these are really just for the aesthetics right now. Quote Link to comment
Justin Berni
that center console isnt stock is it? this year still came with the bench seats correct? Quote Link to comment
DevilZX
Did you read my first post? I talk about the console. I believe that bench seats were still standard equipment but mine did not come with a bench. Someone swapped for some unknowns a while ago. Quote Link to comment
Guest Rick-rat
Air dam looks pretty good, looks much better lower. I personally don't care much for the straps on the hood especially if they are not needed Quote Link to comment
