what are these engines possibly worth??

Recommended Posts

a friend of mine is cleaning out his decesed fathers place and has run accross a few datsun engines...... far as I know they are complete and ran when pulled and have been sitting inside for several years...... one is an L20b..... the other he says is from a 60s nissan patrol.... (P40?).... I will try to get up there in the next few weeks and take pics.... I have been able to find prices on a few of the other engines( corvair and an old chevy inline 6) can you guys give me some kind of ideas what thses could be worth?? his brother wants to scrap it all but we are trying to save some of the ones that might be worth something to the right buyers

Same as the L20Bs. Unless running they are worth whatever parts are on them or a core to rebuild. Otherwise it's a crap shoot... they could be well worn runners.

Look on the bottom of the head between the #1 and #2 spark plug just behind the fuel pump. The raised head casting number is there. Look on the top of the block behind the dip stick handle the engine size is stamped there. May be something special?

the patrol engines are tanks and i've never heard of a blown one... and rebuild kits are available sorta. search rocky mountain patrol and offroad and put it on their forum... maybe someone local will come get it... value is minimal as they transplant into nothing else nissan
