ohmrchristopher
Trying to put stock wheel back on and the sliding contact for the horn is not screwed into the column. If I put the slider on the column the horn goes off. So is there supposed to be plastic hardware somewhere or is there a short on the column OR are my wires wrong? Can anyone throw a picture of their hub with a view of the horn sliding contact. Quote Link to comment
kelowg
Mines a 521 but had same problem. It was a short from metal shaving Quote Link to comment
ohmrchristopher
This is what I am talking about, the two holes close together in the 10 o'clock position on the turn indicator. That is where the horn contact should go but the horn goes off. Datsun 620 by NickedKnuckles, on Flickr Mines a 521 but had same problem. It was a short from metal shaving How much disassembly did you have to do to find the shaving? Where was it? Quote Link to comment
Spades
my 510 had plastic insulators. I used my stock steering wheel for a while, the plastic insulators had disolved and flaked away after sitting for 40 years, so I had to make custom ones from ABS plastic. Quote Link to comment
DAT510
Make sure to have the battery off when messing with the horn (or anything electrical for that matter) I got the shit shocked out of me reinstalling my steering wheel lol. It was almost as worse as getting shocked by the dizzy Quote Link to comment
