hitch
Car, 83 Maxima with 87k One of the rear axle boots is torn and needs replaced, the other three are showing signs of cracking. There is no noise from the joints, but should I replace the boots or just go with rebuilt axles and be done with it. The car needs to be reliable for a bunch of 600mile round trips about once a month for the next year. Just want opinions and suggestions from the forum experts. Quote Link to comment
thisismatt
I can't speak for reman. nissan axles, but if they're anything like the reman. honda axles then you're better off replacing the boot and sticking with OEM parts. Unless you enjoy swapping axles every 6mo-year. Quote Link to comment
metalmonkey47
The last 2 years I've worked at AZ I've never had a warranty issue on a CV axle. I will agree though, if they're not making noise just rip the boot off, wipe out the grease, and toss in some new grease and boot. Quote Link to comment
