Now that that is said would it be easier to rebuild( if so who can i go through for parts) or would it be easier to do a swap( if so what engine would be easier)? Any help would be awsome thanks Quote Link to comment
DAT510
Does the 620 come with a 1.6 liter engine (L16) or a 2 liter (L20B)? Quote Link to comment
mclutz0513
Not sure waiting on they guy to email me back on that Quote Link to comment
metalmonkey47
Hey man, L motors aren't too hard to come by in GA. L20b's are kind of harder to find, but a good L18/L16 aren't too difficult. Have you ever built a motor before? Quote Link to comment
mclutz0513
It's a 73 with a l20b I have rebuilt small block chevys and old Ford flatheads before just questioning if it would be easier/cheaper to rebuild or swap Quote Link to comment
metalmonkey47
Ahhh gotcha man. L20B is the best 'bolt in' that you'll get for that truck. reliable, easy to work on, and tough. Stick with it. Rebuilding it will be much easier/cheaper/beneficial then swapping it. Quote Link to comment

No chance of that over here. lol I've been looking for an L20B for a while. East Coast hoarders want lots of $$ for a garbage motor. Unless it's an L16, but that's a step in the wrong direction Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
If it's a '73 then the L20B had already been swapped in. Does this 620 drive? If not you have no way to tell if the suspension, steering or brakes are any good. What about the clutch and the transmission? They could all need lots of work... and that on top of a new motor. I wouldn't pay much for a non runner because of this. Try to find the best runner you can for the money. Quote Link to comment
mclutz0513
The guy wants 450 for it, it has rust problems but I plan on looking it over real good before I hand over cash, just doin my research first. Who makes parts for the L20b? Quote Link to comment
