squatches
i have swaped an a14 into my 1200 and hooked everything up and got it to run but can not shut it off without pulling the coil wire to distributer. the engine is an 81 out of a 210 and it has been put into a 71 1200. metalmonkey47
Since when do you have a 1200? There was a thread simialar to this the other day. Did the alternator come off of the '81 motor on go on the 1200? Or are you using the A12 (1200) alternator? 81 alternator is IR, but the 1200 uses an external regulator. My understanding is that the IR alt with the external reg back feeds the ignition system. May want to investigate this. Quote Link to comment
DAT510
Yeah my 510 does the same  its ghetto but i don't mind doing it :) its the voltage reg or ignition switch, most likely the regulator. just do the swap to IR alt Quote Link to comment

ofg
Do most of the Datsun alternators have similar mounting dimensions? Quote Link to comment
