yello620 Posted March 11, 2012 Report Share Posted March 11, 2012 Clean all the wiring connectors and fuse box in that system. It is getting hot due to resistance in the wiring. The other thing to consider is to get your headlight wired through relays. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike Posted March 11, 2012 Report Share Posted March 11, 2012 The fuse and the clips that hold them become slightly corroded. This increases the resistance through it and it begins to heat up. The heat will remove the temper from the clips and they grip less and less increasing the resistance and heat until they are useless. Remove and soak in vinegar for at least 24 hrs. to remove as much corrosion as possible, clean with a tooth brush, instal new fuses. If the clips are weak try to replace the fuse box.
