I'm not sure about clearances but I think head bolts should be 60 ft lb...or that's the retighten torque. I have a manual in my truck but that doesn't help us much here given its in kansas and I'm in georgia. Its gotta be listed in the forum somewhere. Do some searching. U will probably find the answers to both ur questions

Head bolts 54 to 61 ft lbs.

Hot valve adjustment 0.012" for both.

If replacing gasket follow this sequence...

RAD

8....7

4....3

2....1

6....5

10..9

Tighten to 22 ft lbs

Same sequence, tighten to 58 ft lbs.

Loosen all bolts.

Tighten to 22 ft lbs

Same sequence, tighten to 58 ft lbs.

Done.

If re-torquing on an old gasket as part of a tune up. COLD ENGINE...Loosen each head bolt ONE AT A TIME in any order and tighten directly to 54-61 ft lbs. Go to next bolt.

The Z24 is notorious for blowing the HG at about 100K. This is Nissan's answer for prolonging the head gasket life. The problem is the first owner my know to re-torque the head gasket every tune up, but later owners have no clue and slowly the gasket compresses and heat cycling delaminates them and... they blow.
