Plumbob
Anyone know where to find a 78-79 620 gas tank? bench seat? stock tach? Pic n pull loves to screw us and punch holes in the gas tanks that come in to thier yards. I have a full set of sunpro super tach III gauges if anyone is interested in trading. Quote Link to comment
darrel
It's the law here in colorado and I would suspect with other salvage yards. The forklifts get the ones here as well as the hole. Some holes are just punched or drilled, while some yards take some kind of ripper to tear the holes in the tanks. Find the best one you can and take it in to have repaired. And from my limited experience with '78 and '79 king cabs, the gas tanks are NOT alike. Quote Link to comment
Plumbob
I think it would be cheaper in the long run to go with a 16 gallon fuel cell located in the stock location, i will have to fab up a skid plate but thats no biggie. Quote Link to comment
yello620
I have a stock tank for a 79 standard cab. Still in the truck. Do you need one from a standard cab or KC? I have no idea if they are different. Quote Link to comment

ggzilla
We were punching holes in them long ago, and it wasn't the law. It was just the fastest way to drain the tank (which may be the law people are talking about). Plenty of room under the 620 to fit other tanks, rather than the exact replacement.
