woodwardjosh
might there be anyone out there with a spare motor and tranny (in rebuildabe shape) to fit my 62 320 pickup. i'm in a quandry, it was outfitted with a newer datsun motor and tranny but i think it wants to be original. when i first got it i assumed that it was, but upon further review... ggzilla
The new engine will undoubtedly have more power and probably will be more fuel efficient than the original. It is a big improvement to remove the E1 (1200) and fit the more modern A12. There are better transmissions too. You sure you want to replace it? Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
I agree. Both of the 320's I've owned had A motors in them, one an A12, the other an A14. They look like they belong, and that's what matters right? I would poke around here and look at a few trucks with A swaps and reconsider. If you do decide on a A motor, the early A12's had the distributor up front which is kind of a headache. I would look for a A14 or even A15 and get the distributor out of the way.
