VintageRice
What is that little coil thing inside the heater box for? The harness goes to it before the blower motor. Looks like some kinda thermal cutout or something? Im rebuilding/cleaning my heater in my 510 and would like to know what the funcion of this is so I can treat it properly. Thanks!! datzenmike
It's basically a resistance to slow the motor so you have a slow fan position. Naturally it will have to dissipate a lot of heat so it is placed inside the heater where the fan will keep it cool. With enough wiring and switch positions you can have 2,3 or more slower speeds but fast is always the same. Quote Link to comment
VintageRice
Ok, was thinking that would make sense but Didn''t know why it wouldnt just be sealed somewhere. But that makes more sense that it needs to be cooled. By the fan. Thanks Mike!! Quote Link to comment
