zed
I just moved into a new house, with a very steep drive way - probably 1:.75m incline. The problem is my L18 / Hardbody truck motor stalls – splutters and dies - in a few seconds if I stop on the driveway. This leads to a dangerous situation if I have a heavy trailer on the back – loss of vacuum brakes...truck runs away down the hill! Surely this is a carb problem? It’s a standard Nikki carb, running perfectly other than this problem. Any opinions would be appreciated Quote Link to comment
josh_t
sounds like the same problem rock crawlers and people with hydraulics have, the float doesnt work properly at steep angles, causing it to flood or not get gas. Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
Mine did this in my driveway also on my truck. I just swapped the carb out and was fixed. Was EZER than taking the top off the carb and unhooking the choke E clips. So assume it was a float isse as I remebered I had the carb apart and on the ground and believed I bent the float arm.
