i'm in the process of changing out my csb and when i pulled the front half of the shaft from my truck, the trans began to leak out fluid. i dropped the front end down to level out the fluid, but i'm wondering if that's how it's supposed to be or if i'm missing an o-ring or something?the trans is rebuilt and has never leaked before.

Yes just slip the spline in carefully so you don't bump the delicate seal.

The bearings never go bad in those . What happens is the rubber isolator rots and the driveshaft wobbles around. I fixed mine buy cutting a rubber strip about an inch wide and wrapped around the stationery part of the bearing on the driveshaft to build it up in thickness. I held it in place with some stovepipe wire until I could clamp it into that U shaped upper center bearing bracket. Once clamped in place it firmly holds the driveshaft in place. I intended this as a very temporary measure but it worked so well I left it and after 3 years forgot about it.
