Morrisun Posted June 29, 2011 Report Share Posted June 29, 2011 Well I am in really deep now, another 1200 coupe. Was run as RX7 turbo car, 5 speed, 7.5 LSD Ford rear end. Dave Chick and I brought this home today from Grants Pass Oregon, a good trip down and back! Thanks' Dave. Fairly straight little car, except for the bottom part of the rear panel. Mustang rear end is a little wide for a 1200. Will need transmission tunnel repaired! Another automatic car. Major down side- SUNROOF! Second gen RX7 spares as front wheels. This is where I have decided to hang those spare parts...Put it back on the road. Quote Link to comment

ggzilla Posted June 29, 2011 Report Share Posted June 29, 2011 Just needs overfender flares. Ford 7.5 gearset is larger than an H190 gearset, so it will be plenty strong for up to 285 ft. lb. torque. Ford used it until the 5.0 went to 300 ft. lb. And some 7.5 have LSD! Quote Link to comment

Morrisun Posted July 30, 2011 Author Report Share Posted July 30, 2011 Changed out front hubs- NO more 3" studs to run into-OUCH! Removed 7.5 Ford LSD rear end, at 59" just a little too wide. Installed sedan rear end only one I had that was complete, drums, e-brake, etc. Installed 13" 510 wheels and tires for rollers before going into storage. Thinking of making this one into Auto-X car?
