Valve spring ID

Received some Nissan Motorsports valve springs for my LZ23 engine

PN is.....M-99996-M1046

Not sure if these are the correct springs, as usual the package was unmarked.

I noticed a blue stripe on other Motorsports springs...not on these though.

 

Left to right

 

Comp spring provided by my machinist...6 coils/wire diameter .171

Stock L spring........7 coils/wire diameter .158

The rest are apparently Motorsports....inner on far right is the same length as the stock L.

Outers are about 5/16 taller...6 coils/wire diameter .168

 

 

Theories?

Anyone have some lying around to compare?

So stock L springs dont have the second inner spring? They just look like the second one from the left? Because I noticed the ones in my motor have the second spring inside like the middle one

yes the have a 2nd spring in them stock.

Ya....the L has the inner...just not in the pic.

The L inner is similar to the one on the right....which has less coils.

Eliminates the possibility of coil bind

Ya...I here ya....a year ago I would of thought a lash pad was some form of disciplinary tool.. ;) :lol: :lol:

Somebody has to have some springs 'lying about'....or have a good memory from when they were installed?..... :)

I'd phone Nissanparts.cc for some specs etc....but they have no clue.

Nissan Motorsports don't reply to any emails....and their 1-888 number is NFG if calling from Canada..eh?.. :huh: :D
