Alignment Specs.

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I am going to be replacing all the bushings in the front of my 510. Along with a thicker sway bar (22mm) and shorter springs.

I am running 14' rims with 195/60/R14 tires on them

Can anyone tel me what the specs would be to align my car properly?

Thank you.

I like to use a touch of toe in about 2 degrees caster with bushings, and 1 degree + camber or 1.5 is good to. To much caster will make the steering heavy and wear the bushings pretty fast. I'm no alignment expert but that seems to be about ball park figures.

While the 1969 service manual suggests up to 1 degree positive camber is in spec, I would adjust it to the far side of the spec -- put it at zero camber. A lot of guys ignore the specification and adjust for negative camber (-ve) although that will wear the tires on one side.

You have to fit adjustable strut tops or something, as it is normally not adjustable.

Thanks guys!

The problem I am having right now is that my front passenger tire (only) is wearing out on the outside about 2.5 inches wide. It is noticeable.

I feel it in the steering. It pulls a bit to the right.

Is this something that can be adjusted?
