MikeRL411
I have found readily available radiator hoses that can be easily cut to fit and look stock for the W/RL 411s. The Goodyear part number is 61572. It is a plain black rubber unit but can be covered in slip-on nylon braid to simulate the OEM unit. It has the distinct advantage of being able to provide both the upper and lower hose with a single well placed cut. Very slightly different routing on the lower hose, but well within available tolerances and looks authentic when you are finished with the installation. The "possibly Gates" part number is (D)71379. A reasonably literate parts counter employee should be able to cross reference it. It has been years since I ordered this part number and my local parts store has changed vendors [and of course no one has any idea who the previous vendor was]. It is fully braided and has an internal spring to prevent collapse. It would be possible to get both upper and lower hases from one unit, but they will be a bit too short and so under tension. It is better to use 2 hoses and trim the ends and cut to exactly fit. Take one 90 degree bend and trim to length for the upper hose. Trim ends to duplicate exact factory routing for lower hose. Lay it up against the waterpump and lower radiator connector and the trim areas will be obvious. Looks absolutely stock when assembled. Edited March 9, 2011 by MikeRL411 1 Quote Link to comment
