Datsun songs

Recommended Posts

Okay, I remember in some bad Datsun song thread a while back we talked about having more Datsun songs to replace the current crappy ones. And since I'm shirking going down in the basement to clean my crank with steel wool, I started screwing around with parody ideas and came up with this. Use the lyrics below, I think you'll like them! ;) If anybody has any karaoke programs, I'll totally sing for this one. But I think I can do better than this. While I love the Wizard, it's a fairly simple song. I think to really have a good thing, we need some more complex Datsun songs.

"The Datsun"

(To the tune of Black Sabbath's "The Wizard")

Misty morning, clouds in the sky,

Without warning, the Datsun drives by

Casting it’s rubber, tires shrieking aloud,

Leaves those Honduhs in a whitish cloud.

Never balking

Just keeps stalking

Engine is growling

Full of power, it disappears,

Rice rockets worry, when the Datsun is near

It takes corners going side to side

Canyon carving is the Datsun’s pride

Never balking

Just keeps stalking

Engine is growling

Sun is hiding, clouds haven’t gone by,

Nightfall is coming, rain in the sky

Honduhs and Chevys are curbing their flights

The Datsun drives faster, right into the night

Never balking

Just keeps stalking

Engine is growling

Except they wouldn't see it in their rear view mirror. Ever. They might see the exhaust though. ;) Hell I passed a few on the hill on the way to open NAPA this morning, only wrapped it up to 108 before I figured I'd better slow down for the corner and because it was icy! Oh wait, I mean 108 KPH, not MPH, that would be reckless!

Canadian cars had KPH added to the speedo around '76. I think large MPH on the outside with smaller KPH (metric) inside the first year .... called soft metric. The next year (hard metric) it was large KPH lettering with smaller MPH and has been ever since.
