ricardo Posted December 21, 2010 Report Share Posted December 21, 2010 hi amigos,i installed and synchronized both carbs.the car runs and idles great,what im confused about is that the rpms drop when i close the hood and ill pop the hood back up and the rpms go rigth up.why is this happening and what is the solution.please help,god bless. ricardo Posted December 21, 2010 Author Report Share Posted December 21, 2010 i have a center pull linkage,its doesnt hit the hood when i close it.i agree that when i close the hood their is less air flow,im going to set my idle at a higher rpm and see how that works.thank you guys for your help. If this is true it would happen on all my sidedraft equip cars. There alot of air in there. something is binding. grease up the throttle cable also. dial the timming up to 12-15 first. ricardo Posted December 23, 2010 Author Report Share Posted December 23, 2010 hey guys,i finally figure out what was causing my idle to be off when i closed the hood,my hood was hiting the vacuum hose.the hose had a crack that would expand when the hood was up against the hose.i replaced the hose and the check valve.idles great,thank you guys!
