most power you have seen someone push out of an A series

ive got an a15 and i was wanting to build the hell out of it but i wasnt sure if the A15 was the best A series motor to have. but i just want to know what people do when they want to build their A series motor. thanks

The A15 is the best of the A series and can be built to make tons of power, but it's very expensive. Big bore, cam, turbo, etc.

oh, i thought the earlier A series motors were better? but how much are talking? i know the intake and the dual side draft webbers are going to run me about 1500.00 last time i checked

i was kidding about the 5-10 horsepower, stick with an l20, por the head (peanut) throw a cam in it, some big carbs and call it good!!! oh yeah and dont forget a matchbox to get all that fuel burning!!!

Yeah! no doubt. From my understanding, an L20 into a 210 is as simple as getting the engine, matching 5 speed, and a driveshaft from a 210 with auto tranny and it's a simple swap. I was gonna do it with my 210 but have yet to get an L20 down here in the south.

If it's an auto, yes (from what I was told. Idk 100%) if manual, it will have to be modified. Which is inexpensive.

if your goal is uniqueness, then a turbo a series would be cool. it going to cost you a lot to get to 15ohp, but anything is doable.

 

if you just want an upgrade and better all around daily driver performance with full reliability, an l20b or ka swap would be way better than what you have now. i went from an a13 to ca18det. the car is a blast to drive now and can lay the smack down on most modern imports.

Better of doing an engine swap. 150-170 HP is a Full Blown Race engine for an A-series.

Save the cash and do either: KA24DE(T) Sr20DE(T) or CA18DET.

no pics still sourcing parts. but the a15 im running right now is in superb condition so im going to do a few things to it for now while i build the ka i got from the bottom up.

Modified is not the same as a new driveshaft. I am not saying that a new driveshaft is better, but simply that the $300 cost is for a new driveshaft.
