fisch
There is a guy not too far away from me selling 2 4 cyl. 1982 Datsun Truck Diesel engines with transmissions for $200 OBO for both. Kept in a barn undercover. I am assuming they are SD 22's but he didn't say. I've written to ask if they are turboed (fat chance!) and if he has motor mounts. I read via the search function that a couple of ratsuners were thinking about puting a sd22 in a 620, but has anyone thought about it for a 521? Bet it'd be tight to squeeze it in there. Read the starter is on the other side, and there'd prolly be motor mount issues too. Custom driveshaft? 60 HP seems pretty small. More than likely beyond my capabilities unless it was a direct bolt in. And I think my L16 is fine though I have't really tested it. But from what I've read this seems like a sweet deal for 2 Sd22's w/ transmissions! Quote Link to comment
nismopu
theres pics floating around of the red dually 521 that has stacks and a SD22. pretty sweet ride! peace. Quote Link to comment
RacnJsn95
Yeah, that seems like a great deal, especially for 2! If it's something you're remotely interested in, then jump on it! The J13 only had 60hp, didn't it? Quote Link to comment
VRTSid
I think thats a great idea! you could have a waste oil 521! that would be awesome. that said I have no idea about any of the fitment or anything. Quote Link to comment
fisch
He sold them in less than 24 houres! Guess it was a good deal at that! Still something to keep in mind for the future. He did say they were not SD 22's, wonder what they were? Quote Link to comment
ADrummond
The red dually diesel 521 belongs to a guy in Vancouver, I forget his name. This is it at Canby a couple years ago. I think it's an SD22. Andrew Quote Link to comment
