compression
I have scoured Ebay, JC whitney, Summit Racing, and a number of online retailers. I am looking for a very low-profile air filter for a 2.75" diameter intake tube (KA24DE in a 510). The last time I did this, I used a mushroom (HKS style) foam air filter. But I cannot find a 2.75 inlet one anywhere! Any idea where to find one? or alternative ideas for a low-profile air filter (under 3.5" height)? Thanks Quote Link to comment
metalmonkey47
Did you check with your local parts house? Quote Link to comment
INDY510
or try a bigger adapter on the MAF.......... ... .. that seems kinda small........ my KA24DE has a 3" adapter off the MAF Quote Link to comment
nis720
There isn't much in a 2.75", common ones are 2.50" or 3". I had a hard time finding the silicone elbows with 2.75" so I can imagine the filter itself. Quote Link to comment
nis720
I think K&N might have it. http://www.knfilters.com/universal/universal.htm Quote Link to comment
compression
There isn't much in a 2.75", common ones are 2.50" or 3". I had a hard time finding the silicone elbows with 2.75" so I can imagine the filter itself. The throttlebody and MAF sensor are all 2.75" OD, and I made a 2.75" MAF adapter. I think I will get a 3" adapter. good idea. Lots more choices in 3". Quote Link to comment
nis720
I have a ractive filter (mushroom style) for sale. The flange has a rubber insert that can be removed. I will see if a coupler is thick enough to make the filter flange fit. I'll get some pics up later. Or the alternative is this K&N filter. http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=RU-0980 Quote Link to comment
nis720
Finally got around to getting those pics. The filter has a 3" inlet (w/rubber piece). The coupler is for 2.75", the fit is close enough if you trim the coupler. Quote Link to comment
