ZackTheImpaler
Wtf is this? So there is a little red canister that says coolant on in in the backround, this is the 3 prong plug in coming out from underneath it. I never even noticed it until I dislodged it from my fan. There is no 3 prong outlet in my engine! http://community.ratsun.net/gallery/image/2774-2010-09-27-154056-everett-washington-usjpg/ Quote Link to comment

LenRobertson
It sounds to me like a tank style engine heater. Plug it in to 120V overnight when the temp gets below 0 degrees F. Did your Datsun come from E WA or Idaho or Montana? I don't think you will need the thing in Seattle. Len Quote Link to comment
ZackTheImpaler
I'm not sure on exactly where my datsun came from originally. But I bought it from a guy who lived right by St.Helens. It's seems the most logical thing is the heater you are talking about. I've never seen anything like that before. I was just curious if you guys knew before I plugged it in to see. I don't know how to post a picture up in here yet or I would. I don't know why the picture in my gallery isn't there either. I click the link and it takes me to my profile and the picture gallery. Quote Link to comment

Pumpkn210
Looks like the wires run to the radiator or the lower hose. If so its a coolant heater, to keep the coolant from freezing. Quote Link to comment
